I grew up in North Carolina and have lived in Utah since attending BYU as an undergraduate. I have been providing comprehensive dentistry in the area since graduating from Roseman University: College of Dental Medicine and I love what I do. I believe that high-quality dentistry includes not only a focused and methodical medical approach but also an artistic element. In that regard, I continually study and attend leading seminars to stay abreast of the latest trends in dental techniques and technologies, including the latest offerings in cosmetic dentistry and dental implants. I have seen countless patients dramatically improve their confidence and, in turn, their lives with beautiful new smiles that they never imagined they could have. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Ashley, and our new baby girl. I also enjoy playing sports, hiking, camping, spending time with friends and family, and doing home-renovation projects. I served an LDS mission in Bahia Blanca, Argentina and enjoy using Spanish to serve a greater number of people, including through some incredible humanitarian trips to Central and South America providing free dental care to those in need. I love creating relationships with my patients, and I work hard to provide the highest quality of dental care. I look forward to meeting and serving each of you and your families. Together with Dr. Lewis and the excellent staff at Meadowbrook Dental, I am excited for what the future holds. If there is any way that I can help you, please don’t hesitate to ask.
I have grown up around dentistry and always knew I wanted to do something that involved working with my hands, problem solving, and working with people. There were many careers that involved the first two criteria but it was the interaction with others that made dentistry appealing to me. It is still my favorite part of dentistry, giving it variety and keeping things exciting. Growing up in Utah I had the chance to explore the beautiful outdoors we have here and I enjoy creating memories through hiking, camping, and fishing with friends and family. I attended Brigham Young University where I met my wife and then shortly thereafter moved to Las Vegas. In Las Vegas I attended UNLV for dental school and we started our family. We have 3 girls and 1 boy that keep life interesting! As a student, I attended many advanced seminars at the convention centers in Las Vegas which helped jump start my path of continual learning. I was granted a scholarship by the LDS academy of dentists which allowed me to learn from their seminars and also studied one-on-one with many great mentors, including the President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Las Vegas chapter. I find many benefits for myself and my patients by being involved in organized dentistry and up to date research. I am a current member of the Utah Dental Association and American Dental Association and keep up on new techniques through CE courses and peer-reviewed journals. Advanced courses in implants, root canals, oral surgery techniques, and cosmetics are the courses I enjoy taking and look forward to helping you and your family and friends with the techniques I’ve learned.
I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I attended Brigham Young University as an undergraduate majoring in Biology. While there, I met my wife, Karen who was also attending BYU. After the birth of our first son, we relocated to Iowa City, Iowa where I began my dental training at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Upon graduation in the Spring of 1982, I began my dental career in Holladay, Utah and practiced there until 1998, when we opened our current office, Old Mill Family Dental Care located in the Old Mill Medical Building in Cottonwood Heights. We wanted to invite our patients to a place they would feel comfortable and where we could provide the best state-of-the-art care possible. We appreciate the many employees that have been a part of our team through the years. Most have worked full or part-time while attending school. They have learned so much and have become quite proficient in providing excellent care and compassionate service to all who come to visit. We have six children who grew up right here in Cottonwood Heights. They attended Butler and Canyon View Elementary and Butler Middle and Brighton High School. Now we are enjoying time with our twenty grandchildren. I volunteered in the community for 21 years, coaching our children’s soccer, basketball, and baseball teams. When not at the dental office enjoying time with all of you, you might find me skiing, running, hiking, mountain biking or taking photos of this amazing place that we all call home. From my early days in dental school to now, I have developed a vision of what it takes to help others have beautiful and healthy smiles and good oral health that will last for years to come. The continual improvements in dental materials and technology make it even better. The best memories of my years in dentistry are the times I have spent with patients and their families. I look forward to getting to know you better and helping you and your family to keep smiling.

"Great Dentistry practice. I had neglected going to the dentist for 8 years and when I broke a tooth reached out to this office they got me in quickly and made it very easy to get back into the routine of regular visits to protect my smile. So grateful for the entire staff. Seriously they are all the best!"
